Pros

Base rate, hours, watches are fantastic

Cons

Inventory is so mismanaged that you have a list of 20-30 clients waiting for two watches and it's first come first served. Lots of angry people after that. Store management was incredibly pedantic and obsessed over the tiniest details. Expectations were never discussed or set formally yet I was fired after a month and not told why apart from "its a bad fit." No consideration for the fact I had resigned from a fantastic position to take the job with Seiko or that I hadn't even been taught to resize watches yet was left to run the store alone in my second week. The authorized dealers undercut the prices so the boutique has zero competitive advantage. Even the sales records were kept on paper and god help you if you didn't put a binder back in exactly the right spot. I was even scolded for the seams of the case covers being on the wrong corners one morning. Don't work here and definitely don't leave a good position to join them. Great watches but horrible retail operation that places ZERO value on staff.

Pros

Grand Seiko really is phenomenal from a production and design standpoint

Cons

Nepotism, I was fired after two weeks with no cause after leaving a great job to join them the day after the French manager gave a store tour to a French former coworker of his. Hmmmm. NYC store is tiny tiny and under stocked. Authorized dealers cut the prices and most of the day you just tell people who bought a $100 Seiko 5 on Amazon that you can’t resize it for them. More tire kickers than Tiffany and Co had Pedantic grown children customers who want to argue over the most ridiculous details of a watch and all ask the same questions they got from watch blogs Constantly explaining why you don’t have Rolex
