Pros

The students at Segue were amazing, probably the best students in the area. They were fun and receptive to learning.Supplies are all paid for by the school, they supplied classrooms well.

Cons

Longest school day in the area. 7:15-3:30. Starting salary around 45,000. Management/admin do not care that you have a life outside of work. They live and breathe that place. It’s one thing to build community and another to not have a life outside of work. PD is at least three weeks long in the summer. There is no EXTRA pay for those, you are paid the same as other districts in the area except they don’t have extensive PD. Too many after school obligations compared to other schools. You are expected to give up your lunch. Students do not have consequences for their actions, on the rare chance they do teachers are expected to handle it. Teaching is a job, I go home and live my life! You are expected to respond to “gchats” while teaching. Segue will feed you and make sure you are ready.
