Pros

As an internal recruiter you can work from home. As an external contractor working for a client, the recruiters are very supportive and the team is great at onboarding and paperwork after hire.

Cons

There is favoritism. The internal team is a small team, the culture of the company feels like either you are in the circle of friends or the other recruiters will make sure to make you feel uncomfortable, and abrasive at times. No room for growth.

Fair salary and decent benefits. Most of the staff is pleasant to work with. External recruiters contracted/hired to work for clients are treated fairly well.

Cons

Internal recruiters experience a high stress environment, long work days, antiquated ATS, micromanagement, needless daily team meeting that can last well over an hour.

Great company to work for. I was always out at one company on contract, but it was always made clear to me that I was a FTE of Search Wizards. Our consulting concierge Dan was always there when I needed him. Just a great overall place to work!

Cons

If I have to stretch to say anything "con" like... While they did offer vacation and sick time, it seemed to take a while to accrue and it didn't roll over, so if you wanted to take vacation in Jan or Feb, for instance it was without pay. (much appreciated the amount we had though.) Also, any time off for holidays that you were contracted out to (at least the company I was contracted out to) were unpaid, so there were 10 days a year that I either had to use my vacation time for, or take without pay. Nice to have them off though, otherwise!
