      Sincere, caring and brilliant team Interesting clients and relationships There is a pervasive sense of purpose going to work

      Constantly shifting requirements and inadequate communication Unstable management with frequent changes and resulting changes in direction Poor career progression with management favorites preferentially promoted Tendency to overstretch and then retract resulting in role insecurity

      Like any start-up environment you will be continually assigned more than an average work load and will feel like you're constantly putting out fires.

      Pros

      Fast paced, science-focussed environment where employees and their ideas are 100% valued. I have worked in a range of relatively high-powered roles and this is the first time I have felt valued. Everyone's love of science is infectious and there is an incredible feeling of purpose so it's hard not to love your job. Management has done a great job of cultivating a company with strong ethics and a real family feel among the staff.

      Cons

      The growth demands of the company mean it's difficult not to work long hours and fast-paced can turn to stressful at times. As a start-up there are frustrating challenges at times but you are also part of the solution so I have never felt weighed down by these. One real con is there is no foosball table.
