      Pros

      Coworkers are great and only decent part of the job.

      Cons

      Communication skills are lacking. Management is political and incestuous. Pay is not great and when Shopko got involved the benefits were lackluster. HR goes behind you back and shows your concerns to your manager. Management is also not great with confrontation and escalates situations. Huge layoffs as well. Lots of instability and lack of care for employees.

      Great co-workers and clean office, hours consistent with good work-life balance.

      Cons

      At my location, no optometric tech so you have to do EVERYTHING yourself plus tedious EHR which adds to the monotony of the job. Constant pressure to see more and more patients; oftentimes 3-4 per hour. Under the new ownership the benefits keep getting worse and worse; you're literally not even entitled to a single pair of free glasses each year which is a telling sign of just how little you're valued at this company.
