Pros

- The culture is great, the company is super young and people are really interesting and motivated to work - The engineer leads are amazing - There are good projects to work on - You are free to learn and use whatever you have learnt - The work-life-balance is amazing - Really nice offices in Karlín

Cons

- The CEO's communication skills are somewhere between horrible and none, he caused a lot of turmoil multiple times inside the company because he can't communicate company decisions properly - You might land on boring projects and moving to others is not easy as sometimes there is no one else to do it and it might depend on whether your manager likes you - The pay is quite low compared to other competitors, startups, and agencies (I would say about 10-20% less) In my case, 50% less than my next job. - There is only 1 career path in engineering and if you don't fulfil conditions you won't be able to advance - Poor HR/Finance departments act in their own interests and will not try to help you or get to a win-win point. - Low to no raises even if the company is doing great - Employee turnover is HUGE - You don't want to know how much their clients pay for you and how that compares with your actual salary

Hi! Thank you for the kind words and the constructive feedback. Having been here for 3+ years, you no doubt know that we're constantly looking for ways to be better. Regarding the pay, perhaps you weren't here at the end of 2021, when we introduced profit sharing throughout the entire company — which increases the pay of everyone at STRV by about 10–20%, and which we'll be doing every year that we hit our goals. Culture is incredibly important to all of us and we will never take the great people we have for granted. There are improvements in the works to make sure we do the changes following COVID, and the changes that naturally come with time, justice. To be honest, our "bar with beer" is far from being at the top of our mind. We've introduced new ways to gather feedback from everyone here, we're rethinking our office spaces, our benefits and everything in-between, and all we want is vocal people like you to tell us what can be better. As for turnover, "huge" might be pushing it a bit. People thrive when facing new challenges, especially nowadays — with the amount of opportunities around — and at the age of the majority of our people. It's the norm in our industry. However, we have plenty of people who've been here for 5, 7, 10+ years, and that's pretty great. And to your CEO points: We all do the best we can with the qualities we have, and there's a lot more to any job than communication. Lubo does his best to be transparent and open — that's one thing we're sure of. But we hear you. You absolutely have a right to this opinion, it's clear that you're coming from a reasonable (and not angry) place and we'll pass it along. Thank you again for the feedback. Great company benefits. Great modern office with multisport gyms, jacuzzi, billiards and other activities. Flexible working hours. Good company culture

Cons

In exchange for great company benefits, the salary for developers were very low.

Pros

really more of a lifestyle than a job, super-friendly people, great social life, so many events - both external and internal, parties, team buildings, still a startup feeling, flat structure, no project managers - developers are in contact with clients directly. The new Prague office is amazing - with gym, bar, rooftop jacuzzi, pool, foosball and many other benefits. The office is really huge, we are at cca 20% capacity, so you can sit pretty much anywhere. I love the freedom. I really like that we dont have any investors, so there are no unreasonable pressures or any outside interference. And one of the best part is the attitude to solving problems - everybody is really helpful and the company wants you to learn and grow. It's really a proper Silicon Valley company in Czech Republic and I can't think of a better place to work at.

Cons

I assume other companies might offer more benefits or maybe a bit more money, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. The friendliness, the lifestyle, the fun and the awesome experiences - it would be really difficult to find it anywhere else. To be honest, I can't think of anything what to complain about, because when we find something, we tell it to founders and it's always acted upon.
