The promotion chances are low because it's based on the years of service and not based on performance. (Then again, most big companies in Korea operate this way.) Personally, I think performance evaluation should be done differently. Not writing long KPI's and not having short interviews 3 times a year or a peer evaluation because that can be very biased. Also, a lot of people find it difficult to switch teams.

Passive aggressive much? Their US office is full of people who can't work any where else and are just happy with high pay so they keep their mouth shut about everything else. The Korean in house team is horribly unhappy/frustrated and it shows in every interaction. No real work is done. Endless meetings about nothing. Hierarchal and nonsensical, the simplest goals are made impossible to achieve by ever changing metrics and a lack of real leadership. It's a nightmare, keep looking.
