Pros

The best view of this place is in the rearview mirror.

Cons

SC Fuels is the most toxic workplace I have ever encountered. It’s like being part of the mob, with less loyalty, more paperwork, and almost no chance at promotion. Leave the gun; take the Prozac. The first thing to understand is that for all their talk of “culture” and being a part of a “family,” loyalty is a one-way street here. It flows only to the top, never down. The owners expect everyone to kiss their WASPy, entitled, never-really-done-a-hard-days-work-in-their-lives behinds. Contrary to the cult opinion, these people are not “humble,” nor do they give a rat’s rear end what happens to you. They pay their workers 20-30% less than what they are worth in the marketplace. They justify this by claiming they treat you like “family,” - but when COVID hit, they laid off roughly a fifth of their workforce about ten days in despite being labeled an “essential” business. They took 20% from their salaried workers and forced many of the hourly employees to be furloughed for at least one day a week. Folks, pardon the grammar, but that ain’t family. They also decided to do some redecorating, because that’s what you do when you’re in such dire straits you have to unemploy almost 100 members of your “family,” and cut pay for the rest of them. That’s their culture – all for me, scraps for thee. If none of that matters to you, this should. There is no leadership at this company. There is no unifying vision, no plan, no one to chart a course and help everyone see their role in reaching that goal. There are plenty of people with “manager” or “supervisor” or “executive” in their title, but these people are mostly useless. Many in leadership roles are there because they were the loudest and most sycophantic of the yes-men. They aren’t the best at their jobs, they are not good leaders, and they are certainly not the most competent. The culture is so bad that those in a position to lead waste most of their time hoarding knowledge, kissing the owner’s butts, and putting down anyone they view as a challenger. Ambition, hard work, and competence are threats to them. The worst part is that these people have squatted and aren’t going anywhere. So not only will you not advance, you’ll have to work for people who aren’t interested in your growth, will steal your ideas and pass them off as their own, and will never let you feel good about a single day’s work. There are some exceptions to this rule, but they are rare.

Pros

I very much enjoyed the majority of my coworkers at the Paramount location. And the commute was quite short for me!

Cons

An HR department that is far more concerned with appearances than being the liaison between management and the work force. They are cold and don't care about their employees.

Pros

The people I work with are all very nice.

Cons

Management is completely disconnected from what is happening and what needs to happen. Corporate lives in its ivory tower and has no concern or understanding for the rest of us. Human Resources does not care about the people, they are only about covering the butts of the executives.
