Horrendous. Stay away! Run for the hills. Save yourself. Heck, save others.

Pros

The clients and a few of the decent people who work there

Cons

Can "everything" be an answer? Seriously. Upper management has no backbone and no true leadership. They are truly a joke and sight to be seen. It is the blind leading the blind. You must watch your back. People who are nice to your face will throw you under a bus at any given notice. All the good employees are completely undervalued and unappreciated. This company only cares about money, not you. If you are single, you're expected to work late while people who are parents get to go home. It is not worth working your rear off for a company that doesn't appreciate you. If you're not a "yes" man, you're screwed. A bunch of really insecure people seem to work here, including management. Worst work environment ever. Needless to say I was overjoyed when I left for a much better opportunity and culture.

Pros

Its really not very hard to work at Ryan. Most of the projects are straightforward promotional sites with social media wedged in. You can usually do most of your work in a few hours and spend the rest of your day doing freelance jobs from your desk.

Cons

Nobody with a UX job had any influence over the final product. The IAs were there, apparently to provide wireframes that the company would bill for. These documents rarely had any connection with the final product. Ideas coming from the UX folks were typically dismissed or ignored. UX decisions were often made by account staff who didn't really understand the medium. One in particular didn't understand the difference between a broswer and an operating system on a computer.

Epsilon acquisition ruined everything!

Pros

San Francisco office is in a great location and direct co-workers were intelligent and hard working.

Cons

Ryan Partnership has been through many changes in the past year with massive layoffs due to the Epsilon acquisition. Epsilon took out many great leaders at Ryan while putting their younger and less experienced employees (some with a complete lack of experience) into power. This has led to extremely low morale as well as questions surrounding Epsilon's ability to successfully implement an acquisition.
