Pros

Good benefits, good location in Rotterdam, some nice people, decent pay, rarely work after hours

Cons

- uptight atmosphere, weak training, poor leadership from management that only cares about its own survival - this company claims to be a leader in sustainability investing yet all you see around you are white males in their 50s, Mad Men type of atmosphere, this place is unfriendly towards women and minorities, and there is very little diversity. The company claims to be "international" yet everyone nonmale and especially non-Dutch is made uncomfortable every step of the way - environment full of favoritism leading to poor morale, toxic ambiance, backstabbing, people badmouthing behind each other's back, low behavioral standards and aggressive methods of communication abound - promotion is based on personal liking rather than any formal standards

Pros

As an RFP Writer, you will have have frequent interaction with investment professionals. It is a very relaxed, slow-paced atmosphere which can be a pro or con depending on your careers goals.

Cons

Ideas for improvement are not welcome, limited opportunities for professional growth, taking on extra projects or going above & beyond is discouraged. I was accused of not being happy with the position and trying to get a promotion because I would ask for more work. I came from a larger firm in NYC, where my peers were in grad school, taking the CFA, worked till 7/8 regularly, attended internal training sessions, etc. This environment at Robeco is much slower, and I wasn't happy. If you are not looking for a career challenge, and want to take a 1 hour lunch everyday and leave by 5pm, this is a good company to just do the bare minimum.
