Pros

- very diverse and friendly coworkers, you will make very interesting contacts - very nice office location with lots of food places and public transport nearby - the health insurance is definitely above average and worth mentioning, they also offer a gym-membership, thai classes and more - the hr and legal department is quite helpful for foreigners

Cons

- upper management micromanages hard during sprints, despite minimal knowledge of the industry with no room for discussion causing chaos, then blames lower management for the consequences and low morale, despite them giving warnings - they want to use agile, but there is a lack of discipline to learn and apply it - unprofessional office politics, people in higher positions insist on ineffective methods because they think suggesting an alternative, even if its already in use, is a personal attack - the creative process is quite toxic, even when presenting hard data and there is no interest in learning to adjusting the process from experienced people - there even is an active effort in trying to prevent people from exchanging knowledge and information, because the person with knowledge might point out flaws, which lead to hurt feelings - low pay - the noise level can be quite bad for concentration - too many people cramped into a small space, leading to bad air in the office

Pros

None. Well, maybe one: staffs is very international, and at a junior to mid-level range they are generally quite capable until they leave in disgust

Cons

Where to start... The company is run like the management cames from 100 years ago. Management and HR treat staff like children, never give them any credit, and don't trust them for anything. The rule book for staff is 50 pages!!! Never seen that before. You can't do this, can't do that... Now I hear they give out warning letters if staff comes in 1 minute late! Management not flexible for anything. Management doesn't know anything about game dev management like Scrum and anyway is away most of the time. Gives orders on the phone. Staff know Agile but management don't, so it's not really used. Direction keeps changing, no clear communication of why to the staff. No understanding of where company wants to go.

a very international but unhappy time

Pros

It’s an extremely international company, about 50% of the employees are expats from all around Europe and Asia. There are some employees that are very knowledgable that are extremely willing to share their knowledge. If you have the work ethic and are willing, you can learn a lot. (but churn is a thing so 🤷🏻‍♀️) Co-workers are great, friendly, and supportive.

Cons

Office space is extremely cramped. Way too small for the number of employees. Extremely mismanaged. Team tries to be agile but can’t with the interference of management mid sprint repeatedly. Management have complete control over the direction, yet know nothing about games and what is fun. (and what happens if you remove fun from a game? 🤔) Hiring a bunch of juniors when they really need more seniors. Looks and feels (aesthetics and the way the company is run) more like a traditional corporate office than a game studio. Absolutely no flexible work hours. Weird in-company politics. Low employee morale. Low pay. Didn’t feel like HR cared about the little guy. Worked there for a while, nothing to show for it. Also the kitchen/pantry is tiny. It can accommodate maybe 5% of the employees.
