A shallow shell of a company

Pros

Was once a great place to work. Like a big family, it had its occasional bout of disfunction but we managed to collaborate and create an amazing brand that our customers came to love and trust. For all those who have been “selected to transition out,” there are many great opportunities available, and AQ was a great training ground for us all. I will always be grateful for everything they did for me. For those who are staying, I have said a prayer for you today. For potential future Revalizers, I urge you to make something great out of all this, for the sake of the customers who have supported us all these years, and in honor of the man who birthed this vital FES app.

Cons

The soul of the once family owned business (formerly known as AutoQuotes) has been sold to the Grim Reaper to wipe out a large portion of talent in exchange, in part, for cheap labor from overseas, while the CEO touts on the local news how Revalize is bringing 100+ jobs to Jacksonville. Far more than 100 people from all the companies that make up Revalize have lost their jobs recently. Like a typical politician, the CEO managed to craft a message that omitted all the facts and had the reporter gushing rainbows and sprinkles over this great job prosperity “news.”

Pros

Really wonderful, supportive and welcoming colleagues on the sub-management level

Cons

These are the points the management makes very clear before you join: - you are 1% of the applicants - you have passed all these difficult tests, interviews blablabla, so be proud of yourself - we are one team blablabla - we have 2376478236874 values that we live by and you need to learn them all by heart. You start working there, do your best, provide the best work results, people love you, give you High Fives, thank you for your work. All good. HOWEVER, every decision is made by some low-level management (high level is too busy and doesn't care about you) who can act as insane as they want to. They can for instance fire you if: - they consider you a threat - you seem a little too smart for their taste - they have unfortunately entered menopause and are discontent with their life choices so far - they are unwilling to take 45 seconds to understand what you are saying because they come from a different part of the world than you - they have conducted some obscure behind your back polls or whatever that can be asking other people about how exactly you screwed up even if you didn't - they are able to convince some HR activist in a similar hormonal disposition that you are not a good asset to the company - they want to go on some long trip and need to fire you to have a peace of mind apparently and about 498578394573984 other reasons that are unfortunately beyond your stupid a.. degree of comprehension, pay grade or employee appreciation framework of Revalize, Inc.

A huge disappointment

Pros

There are some pros - unlimited PTO and HR seems to be actively working to be an inclusive place to work.

Cons

It's clear that Revalize exists for the sole purpose of making rich investors richer. Management acts like they care about employees until it comes to compensation/benefits. I was part of an acquisition and pay was below what I expected. I immediately started looking for another job and quickly had interviews for jobs that paid 1.5-2x what Revalize pays. A lot of employees, including myself, have left because of low pay and no real direction. The small legacy company I came from had better healthcare than Revalize. When several people complained about it, the CEO, Jim Contardi, acted like we were the problem and that we should be grateful to have a worse healthcare plan. It was really disappointing that he put the blame on us instead of owning the fact that he was giving us a worse plan than many of us were used to. While I would never work for a company that has ties to TA Associates (the investors) again, my review is 2 stars because I think there are actually a lot of good people doing good things here. They're just unfortunately held back by greedy investors that are intent on scooping up smaller, profitable companies and keeping that profit for themselves while exploiting employees for as little pay as they think they can get away with.
