Pros

It is a very positive work environment in general, decent benefits, pretty understanding management, transparency about what the company is doing and which direction we're heading. Overall its great, I have personally been treated very well by this company and have no major complaints regarding myself.

Cons

Upper management can't seem to figure out that it is important to pay operators a decent wage. If you're an operator and you've worked here for 5 or 10 years, the temps hired today will make more money than you. Your reviews will be ok, but there will always be something negative in it to justify not giving you a bigger raise, even if you are a star performer. If you are a temp and get hired full time, expect your pay to drop once you're permanent.

Pros

Awesome for experience, engineers will answer any questions if you show interest in the work, very flexible with days off, growth is potential. HR is fanatasic, always willing to lend an ear, and help with anything. Good Majority of holidays off, a week for fourth of July, monthly meetings to keep up to date knowledge of company with standings.

Cons

Favoritism and neglectance of acceptance, contractors who might be possible employees get treated like part timers, briliant minds get passed over for the favorites that drink after hours with management, high school environment, first and second shift management is very unhelpful when it comes to putting in tickets in for broken machines and tell you to try to fix it yourself to cut cost of engineers fixing it, small company which means insurance deductibles are high due to not paying out,

Pros

Laser manufacturing is incredibly interesting, and many of the engineering staff are happy to explain the physics to those who are interested. Clean, climate controlled environment.

Cons

Company culture has degraded from fostering a tight-knit, highly trained and knowledgeable workforce dedicated to quality, into a numbers factory. Employee turnover has soared in the last three years, training has been abridged, playing favorites is the new normal, and a lack of discipline creates pointless conflict. Pay range is approximately 13-15% below comparable positions at other area employers, depending on position. Insurance and other benefits are non-competitive as well.
