Pros
I'm not there any more.
Cons
Appalling culture - not that anyone will tell you what the company culture actually is. If you don't fit, you'll be sacked - people just vanish, like North Korea. You're expected to know how to do everything without ever being told what - and get no support from your manager in learning it. Mine is a bully - classic techniques, right down to insisting everyone under him went to events on pain of punishment, then not attending himself. You gotta kiss the company butt, but they don't. Them and us. You're not expected to have a viewpoint, just to do what you are told, And when America says "Jump!", the only acceptable question is "How high?". Don't expect to have an input because, however much work you put into it, someone in the USA will say "Do this!" - and that's what will have to be done. I knew someone who had so little trust in their manager that they went into work in tears to have a nervous breakdown because they didn't think they'd be believed otherwise. Mental health support is volunteers trying to fit round people driven to breaking point, HR will sign you off if forced, but that's as good as you'll get. No support or flexibility for new parents. HR are all in the US and just interested in firing you. They brought in someone to do UK HR - who promptly left because the culture was so awful. The cure when anything goes wrong is to fire people. Every time. At least in the UK you get pay in lieu of notice.
