NZ/Fiji: Dysfunctional leadership + excessive workload = a truly toxic environment.
Pros
Many nice frontline techs and service mangers doing the best they can with limited help. Technicians mostly try to help each other out. Many mid level supervisors genuinely try to look after their team Low pay but good health insurance.
Cons
Where do I start…. Constantly short staffed due to high turnover of technicians and other staff. Huge workload, staff always covering for others and constantly having to train new staff. Staff overworked and burnt out as a result. Don’t bother asking for help as you will be blamed for not managing your own crazy workload better. Promises made never kept by Management. If they do decide to do something for you, it will take months or years to accomplish but they will expect you to jump to at a second's notice. Aggressive, harassing and demanding senior leaders with little clue about frontline operations. Company is run by finance and sales people who only care about revenue and state of service. They do not care about staff wellbeing or even delivering a quality service. Just ruthlessly pumping and manipulating the numbers to get thier bonuses. Anoucements on supporting staff mentel health etc were hollow corporate double talk. Bullying and harassment by senoir leaders to staff was tolerated if it suited their purposes. Personal agendas, favouristim, a clicky group separated from reality and living in a bubble. SLT were like a gang of high school teenagers. Clients and customers were being ripped off, often billed for service visits never completed, done shoddily or charged excessively. Huge number of contract cancellations and unhappy clients just ignored or blamed on overworked frontline staff. Ineffiecent business systems (e.g., paper timesheets!!) creating extra work. Business software like ServiceTrak that was buggy and were constantly breaking causing problems. No point in rasising concerns or identifying problems as SLT always knew better and will ignore you, despite never having done the job themselves. HR spend their time aggressively defending everything and will harass and slap you down to cover the company's backside. No one at Rentokil cares about you, don't ever let them trick you into thinking they do. The NZ/Fiji business well deserves it’s reputation as the worst Rentokil Initial operation globally. Dysfunction pervades the entire company. Soul destroying. I couldn’t wait to leave. Worst employer I’ve ever had.
