Pros

The salaries are generally pretty high. Work roles and responsibilities are somewhat flexible; if you want to learn something new and you have time for it, nobody prevents you from digging into it. The patent program is rewarding. You can develop your skills here if you don't need much hand-holding.

Cons

Management is very reactive and has a hard time doing anything new. The company does not encourage innovation except in some superficial ways. Managers do not understand the product very well and only a few are technical. Some groups are swamped in work while some groups are quite overstaffed. I've seen both sides.
