Pros
Students are generally energetic and curious - what more could you want? How about sensitive and caring management ? The forty-four day annual leave is wonderful! It's enough to lead an employee to overlook the other shortcomings of the union: remember the Manitoba Government is the ultimate payer so collective bargaining can come shuddering to a halt at any time.
Cons
A tyrannical management style is pervasive. At the lower levels of the hierarchy, there are no velvet gloves and abuse of dedicated instructors is fairly common. (There is NO career path for instructors. Advancement in pay grade means transferring into an administration stream so the administrators generally view instructors as competition and students as cattle.)
