Pros

Having everyday lunch with your loved one and the occasional dinner if is not interrupted by some ridiculous after hour request

Cons

At the interview you were promised the world! but in reality you are just a cleaner/janitor not only for residents, but also for the RM's. You are being bullied, ridiculed, disrespected by your RM's not only in front of your coworkers, but also in front of residents and contractors. Negativity and mismanagement at the property are daily occurrences! God forbid you show that you are smarter than them or more capable very quickly you will learn the true meaning of disrespect and evilness! Sadly, but true bringing your concerns to DM is not changing anything.. RM's are beggars, thief's and charlatans! and the list goes on and on.. Worst employment experience we've ever had!!!

Pros

Live where you work, which is good and bad

Cons

Don't pay overtime even though they are supposed to. We had to go to Labor Board to get ours, but we got it! If you show initiative, you are treating very poorly. They hire contractors that do poor jobs, wasting tons of money, but don't care. Stay away from this company. They pay less than minimum wage.

Pros

Feels like family, with opportunities for advancement and relocation across the country for all your wanderlust needs. Everyone cares for each other and understands the workload and stress that comes with property management. This job is not for the faint of heart nor for the ...ummm... 'less than energetic'. You ARE tired at the end of the day and do feel good about it. The Company rewards hard work and accomplishments, has many training venues for anyone wanting to learn and grow including KPIs and measures, and there is real advancement 'in the field' in this company. There are rarely two days the same to satisfy all 'your boxes', and professionalism through policy and communication is paramount. There is respect and encouragement and at the end of a long hard day, that is the most important thing you can take home with you.

Cons

Property management has its challenges, especially when it comes to finding hard working couples who want to work together and on weekends and holidays and on call. You get to live in a lovely apartment with most utilities paid, yet for many, that isn't enough, especially with bills to pay. That definitely means longer hours when you are short staffed, however, senior management takes care to provide the contractors needed to fill the gaps and keep the high standards expected in place.
