Pros

1.Other than thoughtworkers, people are friendly. 2. Exposure and direct interaction with business. 3. Good for freshers.

Cons

1. Power struggle amongst leaders in tech and product, one might come under radar and get used and suffer cause of their politics. 2. Groupism in engineering. Engineering head, Data team head, all principle engineers and more than half of the tech leads are from thoughtworks. Other leads are chosen carefully who can offer no resistance to the group. To this ridiculous facade, founders and HR team have been keeping blind eye. So many good folks were cornered by this toxic group and they finally left the org. Because of the backing they have, even well reputed and senior people have been targeted on public forums quite rudely. 3. For a startup, atmosphere is of low ambition and for this reason company’s valuation is also lower than what it should have been. 4. Performance evaluation is not taken seriously as the non-deserving people have made it or chosen into the leadership and needless to say they cant be fair cause if they were, they wouldn’t have been here in first place. Talent, skillset, experience is secondary and audaciously connections are favoured openly.

Pros

Flexible work timings fo tech team Scale at which the company is growing Flat Hierarchy when i worked if you constantly disappoint in completing work then you are in the right place. They wont fire you.

Cons

If you are someone who can take up more work you will always be busy fixing issues while rest of the employees peace out. So, no work / life balance There is no such thing as onboarding from HRs. They have too much attitude Focus is always on adding more features. On account of this, there are a lot of issues and most of the time is spent in fixing issues temporarily. I recently talked to people in the tech team found out that there are a lot of people coming from Thoughtworks. Some head joined from Thoughtworks and he is brining a lot of people and trying to boss around. Apparently, no matter how hard you work, if you go against this tech head, he will make your employment hard by arguing & picking on you. Few of the employees left the organisation because of this. How worse can it get ?

Pros

* Impact on ground. The folks you impact are common people of India and not some elitist on other part of world. * Money - to-start-with

Cons

* The entire data team has one decision maker and every definition of right/wrong revolves around the opinion/prior/mood of one person. * The other business functions including but not limited to PM-leads, DS-leads are crippled on authorisation and decision making. * They had some good folks who tried empowering the team (poached from aa company w/ great culture) and dare to speak/take one for the team, have now given up and are leaving the organisation. * Primarily, being an OPS driven organisation, the focus is on making `V0` or hustle, rather than impact. * Lacks planning severely, and as a consequence, the people w/ ownership toil hard, for others, it's another day passed. * For a DS role, there is no one to look upto and collaboration is seen as overallocation. * Even if you manage to create a sensible product, the adoption will be temporary. * Spends a lot of time b/w managers to create OKR's, nobody cares about the analysis that will be involved * SQL developers are titled Data Analysts, Data Analysts are titled Data Scientist, and a Senior Data Scientist is responsible for everything that goes wrong w/ the system * One will loose skill during the time spent w/ Rapido.
