Pros

most people there are pleasant to work with and make work bearable.

Cons

Where do I begin? Coming into Rapid7 they paint you a picture of opportunities, morals, values, great work/life balance, the "cool" company to work for. Well, let me give you a warning - run, and run FAR. People are treated extremely poor there, especially the Account Executives. Higher ups, like Christina Luconi pretend to care about your concerns, but don't. Have a problem with HR? Well don't bother confiding in them either because they will probably tell your manager/director and you'll end up on a plan or fired. The place is like a high school with gossip and talking behind peoples backs. I wanted to stay at Rapid7 because cyber-security really is relevant, but it just wasn't worth it. My colleagues were awesome to work with but if you value your sanity and having a life outside of work, just look elsewhere. Oh, and if you see positive reviews on here, it's because recruitment asked them to do it.

Pros

Free stuff Nice office Paid Lunches and trips

Cons

Extremely political 10 people quit or were forced to quit in 2018. Some of them had been there for years. Leadership is extremely weak, cowardly and cannot take criticism. Extremely comfortable with the status quo extremely rude and incompetent office management Arrogant and Rude senior members of the teams. Confidence killing leads. Encourage overworking - burnt out team members. Management deaf to advice

Pros

*Interesting industry and products *Healthcare benefits include pretty good coverage *Employee stock purchase program can be profitable *High turnover leads to good networks of ex-employees

Cons

*Company treats people as disposable. They burn some people out and put up with too much bullying and unwarranted finger-pointing that pushes others out. If you look through all these reviews, you'll see a cycle in which there are a number of reviews discussing this tendency, and then a new batch talking about the "great culture." They basically just shrug when people get screwed over, and then hire a new batch and get them to write reviews while they are still starry-eyed. I think they consider the excitement to be the "culture," but if you're shoving people out instead of dealing with the factors that make them unhappy, *that's* your actual culture. And they have developed a reputation within the industry for treating people badly. * "Grenade-throwers," as someone else aptly put it, are given power and influence, without having to prove they actually have any better plans for improving the situation. *Lack of clear paths for advancement. It seems like there would be opportunities, because the company is growing, but they don't develop people to lead.

Super disappointing feedback, but we appreciate you taking the time to share. We strive to be an open door company, with a plethora of avenues to share your feedback so we can continually provide the best possible work experience for our people. I'd strongly urge you to reach out directly to me - or your team exec - and talk these concerns through. We take our people's input very seriously, but we can only do so when we know about it. Believe me, if I know counter-cultural behavior is occurring, I'll be first in line to rectify it. I'm more than happy to discuss any of these points with you. -- Christina Luconi, Chief People Officer
