The guides I worked with were fun and did their best to make the most of a bad situation. Being on the river was the only benefit to working with row. I gained experience, but regret telling future employers it was with ROW.
Cons
Management is unprofessional and disorganized. Too much training was required with none of it paid. For a company with 40 years of experience everything is unorganized and chaotic. Communication is lacking and often disrespectful. Poorly managed from the very top.
Learning lots of rivers. A place to get your foot in the door.
Cons
Peter Grubb (CEO) is so intense with a huge but super fragile ego. His condescension is palpable. It's going to work doing your dream job but going to sleep wondering why you hate it. I'm looking for work with a new company. The criteria: do I respect the boss? Could I survive an hour-long car ride together?
