Ultimately a regrettable choice

Pros

New CEO is brilliant. Perhaps she can effect change in other executives and board members bringing them into the 21st century

Cons

Low wages, red tape, and elitist favoritism will prevent any advancement in your career. RGP should dump anyone currently in a managerial position and perhaps a few directors as well. They are petty people. Working here you will be underpaid yet told how much you are appreciated as you are fed terrible pizza.

Pros

Very friendly people. Internal staff does not work on commission. Consultants work locally. Work is primarily managed locally not by corporate. Consultants have the freedom to solve problems as they see fit without adhering to an RGP methodology.

Cons

No pay increases for internal staff. Unpaid downtime for consultants. No performance reviews for consultants or internal staff. Antiquated systems.

Pros

The company is committed to providing best-in-class service to clients for its core competencies, and delivers in the great majority of instances. This company would be at the top of my list, if I ever needed project-based execution consulting, management-led project initiatives, and/or highly-skilled, extremely-experienced staff augmentation.

Cons

The company is extremely slow to change and does not reward success, dedication, or loyalty appropriately. There is severe lack of commitment to employee success, recognition, development, and retention, which is consistently demonstrated through unappreciative and, at times, seemingly indifferent leadership. Even though cash-rich, management refuses to invest in people and systems, preferring to continually (and fruitlessly) look at acquisitions, rather than internal investment. The significant lack of both career advancement opportunities and commensurate compensation eventually creates extreme demotivation and matched apathy.
