Pros

They are well funded which enables nice facilities and decent snacks. Pay is commensurate for average Valley living; salaries can be found online. If you enjoy research, this is an excellent environment to tinker in the lab. You will learn about tactics used in Silicon Valley and attempts at value extraction.

Cons

The management team is inexperienced and insecure. This affects the culture. During the course of my tenure over 10 experienced professionals willingly left. The culture is very cliquey, rendering trust and transparency impossible. There is no career development; not ideal for a fresh graduate.

Pros

1. Over-promotion in the management (more than you deserve, can be shameful sometimes) 2. You get promoted every year if you if joined before IPO even though you may not deserve and technology is a total failure 3. Can get promoted even before successful customer delivery and failed working cells 4. So many promotions to Directors, Senior Directors and 2x promotion to Vice President (in six months) 5. Sometimes you can get promoted to fill in the void, they need to show off the shareholders they have VPs for new departments (after the VPs leave within a year or so), so wait for someone to leave or trick them to leave the company

Cons

1. Toxic workplace (backstabbers colleagues, who looks at your computer screen on your activities) 2. Poor training and no vision for employee career growth 3. Lack of collaboration among engineers and managers 4. Strained relationships b/w R&D and manufacturing, among r&D engineers, among the manufacturing folks 5. Leadership fights openly with each other even opening in meetings or team group chats 6. Directors in manufacturing can yell at you because they don't know how to manage and have never managed 7. Directors can be micromanagers, lack any industry experience beyond their current R&D role

Pros

A few people who really love to solve the problems, deliver results and driven the company towards the commercialization.

Cons

-Freeloaders and incompetent employees on all levels in the company. -Super weak HR team. -Unfair internal promotions deteriorate employees morale- the manufacturing team is a good example of this. There have been several recent promotions in the manufacturing team, but none of them have gone to the most qualified employees but to managers' favorites. This has caused a lot of resentment among the team members, and it is starting to affect their productivity. - Insiders selling left and right
