Pros

It's a salary. Sometimes its even correct.

Cons

A dysfunctional mess of tiny empires, internal politics, lazy untalented, dishonest managers and meeting engineers. Your job description will include the classic NHS sucker punch 'and any other duties as deemed appropriate'. This means you'll be dumped on with all the work your manager is being paid to do. There's no scrutiny over job creation so people keep creating 'cushion' jobs to slide underneath themselves so they can spend their time talking instead of thinking and defer anything difficult to someone else. Meetings mainly consist of a Mexican standoff where someone eventually blinks and makes the mistake of volunteering to do something.

Pros

Will pay ridiculous amount to contractors in terms of day rate to contractors (public money!) Not much else to say

Cons

As a public health organisation it's surprising how little the management care about the health and wellbeing of staff. No training and development plan for staff

Pros

You literally don't have to do anything for your money. Regardless of your IQ, you will most likely be the most intelligent person in your office.

Cons

No growth. Ancient technology. Poor management (too scared to speak up) Writing bad software Payment bands - killing incentive No culture, no communication. Everyone just stare at their pcs all day long.
