Pros

Flexible schedule, the BTs and most of the BCBAs are great. Pay was decent. Working with kids and families.

Cons

Leadership play favorites. The owners are really charismatic but also very manipulative. Trying to give feedback or raise concerns was so exhausting. They are very good at persuasion and arguing. One of them teaches a class about manipulation. They boast about employee surveys and ethics hotline, but they always try to figure out who the feedback is coming from even though it's anonymous in order to justify and argue away the issue. If there's an issue, They are quick to make judgement before talking to all parties involved. They play favorites and when they don't like someone, they will hyper focus on that person and will find anything to nit pick them about. I've seen several people treated poorly because of this. They act and say they love feedback and don't get negative feedback on their staff surveys and hotline that matches their negative reviews, but they are lying. I didn't feel safe giving feedback for fear of retaliation - which is something I've heard from other staff as well. They have a bottom line and won't let anything get in the way of that. I feel a but traumatized from working there. There's so much pressure and manipulation going on.

Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like you had some difficult personal interactions that we would like to know more about so we can actually look into them. If you feel comfortable, please forward your concerns to hr@provenaba.com. We strongly disagree with a number of things that you claim and wish we could understand where your claims are coming from: 1. There are multiple methods provided to all staff to give feedback and raise concerns, from speaking directly with your supervisor, to their supervisor, or even going straight to the CEO. The owners and C-Suite regularly make time to meet with any employee that wants to talk about their concerns, regardless of their position or time in the company. We also provided you with an anonymous ethics & compliance hotline and recurring anonymous employee satisfaction surveys, so you could raise concerns without any fear of retaliation. 2. We can’t figure out where a complaint or comment comes from unless that person actually identifies themselves. Surveymonkey and Google control the anonymity of the responses. 3. Nobody teaches a class on manipulation. 4. We have always been transparent about constructive criticism and our efforts to improve things based on feedback. We have also always been transparent that just because a concern is raised, that doesn’t mean that we will take the action that you might want. Everyone has different opinions and perspectives. We problem-solve issues by committee whenever possible to make the best decisions that uphold our core values, maintain ethical & regulatory compliance, and benefit the most people. 5. If you are not performing well, you will have more attention placed on you. If you are not able to meet our baseline clinical standards, you will be given more support and attention until you demonstrate that you can meet those standards. If you want to work for a company where you are left to be completely independent with no oversight and support, a company with no adherence to high clinical standards and the follow-through with staff to ensure standards are maintained, then we are not for you. 6. We have nothing to lie about and nothing to hide. We even share direct quotes from critical feedback in town hall meetings when addressing them. If we needed to lie to our team about the feedback we received, then we wouldn’t waste our time even trying to collect it. Regularly processing feedback and trying to coordinate actions or policy changes in response requires a lot of work done by many people. 7. Our bottom line is what is best for our clients. You are correct, we won’t let anything get in the way of that. We hope you are able to find a new employer that is a better fit for you.

Pros

Supervision is excellent here at Proven. This is my first ABA job and the supervisors/BCBAs have been a great resource and excellent mentors for me. I feel like I am very well trained in my position and if I need any support or information, my supervising BCBAs as well as our clinical director, Lindsey, have been a great resource for me. Even though, we often work in clients homes alone, I don't ever feel like I'm working alone. I have a great team supporting me and working with the same clients.

Cons

I've only been working at Proven for a few months, but I find that with the nature of this job, it is difficult to take time off. It can be hard to find coverage when you need time off or when you need to take a sick day. With my clients, there are only two RBTs and one BCBA so if I needed time off, there are only two other people who know the client and the programs that can cover for you. It can be very difficult to take time off, especially if I am suddenly under the weather or need a mental health day.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way. These issues have never been raised by any other staff member and have never shown up in any of the semi-annual employee satisfaction surveys that you have had an opportunity to participate in. That leads me to believe that this is the result of something recent. If you feel comfortable, I encourage you to speak to your supervisor or Lindsey about these issues, or you can always ask to speak with me and no one would think twice about it. I am particularly concerned about your feedback on communication and training, since we pride ourselves on our communication with staff and believe we provide the most training out of any private agency in Eastern Massachusetts. For your concerns about the BCBAs, I would like to hear more so I can take specific constructive feedback to the Clinical team. Your comments would be kept anonymous. If you don't feel comfortable speaking with a supervisor or with me about these problems in more detail, then unfortunately we won't know how to make changes to improve your experience. In that case, we can't fix what we don't fully understand, so I would encourage you to look for a position elsewhere. We all deserve to be happy where we work. Regards, Scott Snider CEO
