This place really makes me feel like home! I've made so many close friendships here with my tutors, managers and Directors -- not only did they help me survive high school but they continue to be those who support me through my uni days. I find that the more effort you put into the job you do, the more joy and satisfaction you get out of it :) I love that my job is always challenging because it keeps me growing and going. Whenever I feel lost I can always reach out and there will always be someone there who can give me advice on how to improve, both about my work role and my attitude towards my life. Everyone's so supportive even when you are not feeling your best. The workspaces are amazing and you can go in at any time to study for uni or do your own work. There's always someone there to keep you accountable, but you also get to sit in a silent space so you don't get distracted. Overall, highly recommend Project if you're a passionate and dedicated soul who is keen to make a difference in high school students' lives!
Cons
It can be tricky to navigate a work/life balance when you're first starting because you do spend time outside of your shift communicating with students and coworkers on Slack. However, the managers are super supportive of us in setting clear boundaries of when we will be active online and encourages us to not be doing Project work when we should be focusing on uni etc. It's still super flexible as to how much you want to engage on Slack.
