Pros

It's easy and no one cares.

Cons

There is lack of investments in critical resources such as mission critical Informations Systems to complete simple day to day tasks, which the company takes a very "Cheap" approach on and there is an arbitrary focus on things that make the company look good to its customers. Many of the service offerings the company advertises cannot even be supported 80% of the time! Don’t be fooled by all the “achievements” and “awards” which are paid for by the company to make them look good to their customers. The lack of resources within all departments puts anyone that works there in a compromising position and the incompetency throughout the company is ridiculous. All the best talent leaves or they are let go because they challenge "company's ideology". This company is run and managed by friends (RED FLAG!) who lack the knowledge and competency to properly oversee operations. I am not surprised that within the last 6 months over 15 employees have left across all departments and this trend continues. My condolences to all their customers and anyone that is currently employed at Proficio, latin for “to make progress” - ironic given the downward progress and high turnover rate! Many of the currently employed individuals are waiting for their way out and getting the experience they need to seek employment elsewhere. There is a reason that there are so many bad reviews about this company and no major recruiting companies in San Diego will refer anyone there. Don’t be fooled by appearances because the glass vail will shatter! Proficio are like the “Sirens” from Greek mythology, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. If you are an EXTREME RISK TAKER then this company is for you!

Pros

Free food and no over site whatsoever!

Cons

Investors are no longer willing to give any capital to this company for a reason and the only two account managers ran for the hills!!! I’m no detective but when your entire company’s finance team books it then you know something is up and then you hire a CISO/CIO with millions of dollars.

Pros

- company is so desperate to find people to work them that even people fresh out of college or interns can get hired on without any meaningful experience which in turn leads to a SOC team full of inexperienced analysts being asked to monitor traffic from banks, healthcare companies, etc. So I would say the only reason for someone to work there is to break into the Security field and maybe get promoted to an engineering role just to have the title for your resume and then move on quickly to something better

Cons

I was going to wait to write a review until after I've left for obvious reasons but I feel that posting this review will maybe help lead to some changes that I could still possibly witness... This company is a lot about making wild & glowing promises to both, employees as well as customers but falling short on pretty much all of them. - flat out lying to customers about the services the company delivers. This is by far the biggest issue. You have unhappy and unqualified Proficio sales people trying to leave the company so they promise a potential customer anything under the sun just to score the deal and collect the commission so they can quit the next day. Then it's up to the rest of the team to try to fulfill those wild promises and if you happen to be on the engineering team and can't support a particular device as it isn't compatible or a service offering flat out never existed to begin with at the time of the sale, you get all the blame if you can't make it happen. I can't tell you how many times I've been on a kick-off call between the Proficio team and a new customer and while they discuss the various services and security devices the customer paid to be monitored, I get hit up in chat by someone from the team telling me how nobody has any experience with XYZ devices so stuff has to be figured out on the fly. This is extremely shady and I can't believe they have gotten away with that for so long given how small the cyber security space is. - pay below the current market rate. Their SOC team has a lot of turnover so many of them are either interns they eventually hire or people with little real world cyber security experience and just out of college to save costs. When these folks actually try to move into an engineering role they get offered either no raise at all or something measly so they end up getting paid about half of what they'd get if they were to go with another company just so they can call themselves an engineers. - company promises everyone stock options so people won't leave but nobody seems to have ever received any, hence people no longer sticking around - HR department threatens employees with legal actions if they post any bad reviews - legal department sends threatening letters to companies who hire former Proficio employees to not disclose any Proficio "secrets" - barely any benefits - only 7 recognized holidays, most companies give at least 10 - extremely slow PTO accrual rate, expect to work well over a month to have earned 8 hours - terrible cell phone reception so if you do try to interview for somewhere better you have a hard time, feels like you're in a prison and someone is on the roof messing up your cellphone signal so you can't call and find a place to leave to - terrible location if you have to commute, can't believe some folks spent over 3 hours in traffic each day for this gig - constantly being harassed to vote for them for best this & that company; there is much more competition in the MSSP space now so they are feeling the pressure
