Pros

Regular hours, no work on weekends

Cons

There's a reason prohealth has such poor reviews on Glassdoor across the board , and it isn't by chance, in fact many of the good reviews are written by managers inside the company. It must start pretty high up but I've witnessed a bureaucratic disease in the Human Resources department and it cripples the company. The HR department has been put in charge of fixing it, but they are the problem. In HR the senior most managers consistently pass on blame for the department's shortcomings. There is no communication, poor training and zero ownership of big projects, so when tasks inevitably are done incorrectly or missed altogether, those in charge search for people below them to blame. Subordinates get zero authority or autonomy, yet they are magically expected to accomplish tasks without training and guidance. If you happen to be great at guesswork, you might be great at this job, otherwise the system is designed for you to fail. Even if you're unemployed, do your career a favor and wait to find something that gives you a chance to learn and progress. Prohealth has lost any good talent quickly and repeatedly, you cannot run a successful organization in the 21st century this way. The ones left behind quickly fall into line and persist the culture of passing on blame for failure. PS: there is another Glassdoor entity (Prohealth care associates NY) which is the same company here. HR put this one together because the old one was so bad, and the department needed a way to put out better reviews.

Pros

Amazing coworkers and staff, truly sad to have left them. Recently started engaging in campaigns to give back to the community. Although this is probably just publicity for them, I can't help but stand beside that and support it wholeheartedly.

Cons

What I am about to say is from the perspective of someone who has left the company and had time to think about this. There are almost too many cons to list. This company has no idea what they are doing and they're absolutely delusional. Upper management runs around putting the blame on lower level employees for their own mistakes and never gives them the support and encouragement to do their best. Mid level management and support staff are so consistently stressed and overworked that I have myself had and witnessed others having an emotional breakdown over this company. They squander and take advantage of good people who are hardworking and dedicated. If you give 100%, guaranteed they will demand 200 plus % from you and run you into the ground physically and mentally. The CEO is an absolute psychopath who screams and curses at employees. This man is the textbook phrase of 'delusions of grandeur'. Also someone should tell him to get a haircut and wear a suit once in a while. If he's "dressing for the job he wants" then I believe he is aiming to be a vagabond looking for his first hot meal in three months. Not a good look for someone who is claiming that they run a company that is greater than any other and will surpass all other Healthcare systems in the tri-state area. I hope that Optum realizes what they're getting into with this company, because as far as I can see this is not the culture or environment that they would like to be associated with. Its truly sad because on paper, the idea of this company is phenomenal. I don't believe that previous leadership could have achieved the success that prohealth is capable of but I absolutely know that current management cannot. This company needs an entire overhaul of upper management from the top down or they will lose everyone who will make them a real name in the tristate Healthcare system.
