Pros

Being a male is the only way that this job would be enjoyable or worth working here.

Cons

Management is full of false and empty promises and never follow through with anything. They are a bunch of misogynistic men who look down on women. Women do not earn the same salaries that the men make in the same positions nor will they promote women who deserve it. I personally make more than a female in the same role and they asked me not to talk about my salary as the state of California requires equal pay. People basically fake it until they make it. They talk only about themselves and how amazing they are yet I have yet to see any type of intelligence or growth from those who are in higher positions. They will promise you all of this money and bonuses yet I have never seen this happen. They are only out to benefit themselves and those in their tight circle and not take care of their employees. This is another shady lab that feels like a miserable high school experience. I do not recommend working here.

Pros

Basically none at this point; the lab is filled with negativity and retaliation from those in a place of power.

Cons

1. The Lab is a toxic work environment. 2. Harassment and bullying of employees is a daily sport. They allow management to bully people to the point they rather quit/get fired. 3. Employees literally just quit by not showing up to there shift due to how negative the lab has become. 4. Employees in the lab deal with constant humiliation and inappropriate work conversations; later used to belittle staff. 5. Lab employees are blamed for problems and errors cause by those providing the information. 6. Meetings are held to publicly embarrassed employees. 7. Daily negative emails or “error report” are sent with so much backhanded comments employees know the only point to those emails is to be humiliated. 8. When issues get brought up to management employees are told they are complaining. 9. You are not allowed to talk to your coworkers even if it’s abou work; employees are discouraged from speaking to HR and when HR gets involved there is retaliation. 10. There is no advancement in the company unless you’re cool or suck up to those in power; I got passed up for a position because I don’t play fantasy football.

Pros

None that I would go as far as mentioning in a review. If I had to think of something— the medical benefits aren’t terrible.

Cons

This was quite literally the most manipulative group of individuals I have ever worked along side. I want to express how deeply I wish I could scrub the whole experience from my memory, and resume. From day one, the red flags were there. Not only do they severely underpay “entry level” account managers, they set unachievable expectations for promotion. The car stipend given is laughable. Additionally, fuel is not reimbursed. In a market like Southern California— I essentially spent more money than I was making in order to do my job. (See $7/gal gas prices) My biggest concern is that there seems to be no urgency to educate management level employees, or necessary previous leadership experience. Promotions are based entirely upon numbers, typical of sales. However, it should be recognized that not everyone who can sell can LEAD. I was continuously being pulled between a manager who micromanaged my every move, and one who only checked in when they had finished a call with the other manager. I was expected to drop everything I was doing whenever my manager couldn’t get to something, and drive over an hour to support their accounts. Additionally, the role was sold to me as 80% account management 20% sales. I can confirm that the expectation is quite the opposite. In fact, I’d say 80% account management 80% sales. Not to mention, the numerous times where I witnessed management speaking ill of employees. Management should never speak ill of employees around their direct reports— this plants a seed of distrust and trust is necessary component when operating as a team. The company itself is a mess. Between promoting based solely on numbers, inappropriate negative conversations about employees, incorrectly allocating commissions, and territories that don’t make sense— It’s only a matter of time before it implodes if nothing is done.
