Don't mistake my "pros" summary to mean that this job is easy. You don't have to be a sales god to succeed here. Sales can be taught, and the people teaching you to sell at Precise are unmatched. What is important when deciding whether this job is for you is:
Drive: are you going to come into work every day and give it all you got without getting distracted by the many distractions a typical sales floor offer?
Desire for money: If you love money as much as I do then you'll be fine. Because in sales that's what the motivation is. And if money doesn't motivate you then you're out of luck. If it does, you will be well rewarded for putting in that extra effort to get a bigger check next pay period.
Energy: This job is phone sales so your prospects can't see your hands or facial expressions. All they have is your voice. If you sound bored, sad, tired, etc. that comes off to them. Emotion sells.
Assertiveness: You are selling to insurance agents. These people know all the sales tricks and tactics. You have to be just straight up transparent and tell them why they need your product as opposed to one of the very many other companies out there. And the agents being salespeople, sometime they need a little push to get them over the edge. Some of these guys will walk all over you if you let them. But if you push back they'll respect you and give you a shot.
This job does require a short transition period. Whether you're a sales vet or somewhat inexperienced, selling to insurance agents is a whole new ball game. You aren't going to instantly make bank however while you're adjusting there is a base hourly wage you will get paid to ensure you aren't starving. But as I mentioned I only worked there 4 months and I consistently made at least 2,000 every pay period in my last 3 pay checks. The team there does a great job getting you to where you need to be to succeed. Even sitting near other sales guys who are doing well taught me a whole lot. It's as simple as listen to other reps and try different things. When you find what works for you just repeat and so on and so forth.
