      Pros

      Its not all about making money to Praxis. They actually care about their employees and follow their core values. Only company that I ever worked for that actually evaluates itself against its core values quarterly in front of its employees. If people have any issues and communicate them, Praxis can usually find a win-win outcome for everyone.

      Cons

      Some policies are different than how most contractors operate in this area. Some might consider it a con, but really its just a different business decision. For instance, 401k is a yearly lump contribution, not a monthly match and they don't pay overtime, just apply it as comp-time because they actually want you to have a good work-life balance.

      Pros

      Finally, a company who hires an engineer to do engineering without the pressure to manage, write proposals, or get some silly company certification. The management really works at fitting employees to positions where they can be happy and successful. Praxis is big enough to weather the lean times but small enough to have genuine concern for the well-being of employees.

      Cons

      I would like to see more contract diversity to put the eggs in more baskets, but I have faith in the ability of senior management to find new opportunities as needed.

      Pros

      Good benefits (health, dental, vision), year end bonus, 401K contribution never below 7%, referral bonus both internal and external, paid training.

      Cons

      I can only speak for the VA office programs. Once you are hired and placed, it is like any other company if you work at Govt site. The PMO nags you for monthly reports and to get your time card completed on time. If you have an issue, they may listen but will not do much to help. They profess a work/life balance but that is impossible if you work on Govt site. You will hear from your manager if there is bad news and that is it.
