Pros

Small company feel, so many long-timers and some amazing talents. Success of your project often depends on your relationships with folks on the manufacturing floor. Nice new office on Airport Blvd. So many in leadership roles were promoted from within. Powell has its own unique culture which is both pro & con. Some individuals in management are very progressive, others not so much. Some individuals are paid very well, but majority is not.

Cons

Extremely fast pace with poorly developed processes, extremely poor communication among teams; decisions made/discussions held in silos; as a PM be prepared to wear many hats since you will be doing it all! Everyone is stretched thin and extremely over-loaded. No ownership within various groups/management and no sense of responsibility or urgency for such a dynamic environment. Some in management are extremely set in their "old" ways and change is hard to implement. And don't expect any training as a new-hire, you will be learning the ropes by "fire-fighting". No work-life balance at all!

Pros

Good starting point for a new grad. Good place to learn and build your credentials. Take advantage of any training opportunities.

Cons

Low pay. Most of the managers are managers because of who they know not what they know. Lack of communication throughout the organization from sales to project management, PM to engineering, and from engineering to shop floor. No more than 3% raises so if you hire in low you are stuck.

Pros

I love working for Powell Delta/Unibus. During my time here I have seen many changes and I must admit it is for the better. HR at Delta are top notch, I have not ever worked for a company that HR is so involved in trying to make this a better place. They do what many HR people I worked for don't, they listen. Aggressive growth, management seems to really be trying to make us competitive in the market.

Cons

If your not part Houston or Canada you are forgotten.
