Pros

It's entirely a meritocracy and as such you're in control of your own destiny. It's an exciting industry, and one of the few that correctly claims to be fast-paced. You don't have to deal with office politics in the same way as other jobs. The training programme should give you most of the tools you need to be successful and it's very useful to be learning in a group environment as well.

Cons

Very long days at the start and really hard work for little immediate reward, but realistically everyone knows what they're getting themselves into, why they're there and the risk/rewards involved.

Pros

Nice location. It`s not hard physical work. Parking space. Company cares about this reviews so they are writing nice stuff here. Free pizza on Fridays. No need to work over weekend. Flexible vacations. Boss loves to travel so he is not in the office often. No need to be over intelligent to be successful, just lucky.

Cons

Long working hours. Sometimes 12-15 hours a day. Small salaries. Salary does not include travel addition. Or meal additions. Small bonuses, if any. With them included, salary is still small. Bonus payment is structured in a way that in case you decide to leave the company, you loose most of the bonus earned from the profit in the past 3-6 months. Huge overheads and other costs. And it just keeps increasing. Extremely hard to leave company if you are profitable. Penalties and possible lawsuits. Firm is hiring all the time and firing people frequently. Maybe 1 man out of 8 will stay. You will work hard just to allow them to steal your edge. Low sport activity. Possible heart attack. National Holidays don't count as you are working in foreign markets. No Christmas bonus.

Hi, We regret you have not had a better experience working in the Split branch of Positive Equity. It’s a relief to read there were at least some positives. Are successful traders ‘lucky’? Our stats do not bear this out. Almost all of our highest performing traders are substantial outliers in terms of academic achievement, sport and other competitive activities of skill such as music or poker. We hire on this basis. Starting a trading career is difficult and it sounds like you had a tough time. I wish it worked out better for you. Ultimately, we believe working with highly successful and intelligent people together on the trading floor, sharing trade ideas and innovations, is the best route to trading success. We appreciate you taking the time to post the review.
