Old ladies here think they're in a clique

Pros

The president and some of the management and HR are really concerned about creating a comfortable work environment, so if you have issues, they do try to get things resolved peacefully. They also bring in a local massage therapist once a month to give massages to anyone who wants one. For free. We all also went to a Rangers game earlier this September. They order lunch for people when it's their birthday, and they offer business classes if you want to further your education.

Cons

The people who have been here the longest seem to think they run the company, with one lady in particular who has, on multiple occasions, hired two of her friends for complex accounting jobs, both of whom have either never worked in accounting before, or just don't know how to work with minimal supervision and no hand-holding. When others complain about the errors or their laziness, this lady sabotages the complainers and reports them to their superiors to silence them. She will force people to tell her what they said in confidence to HR about her or her friends. She will and has physically blocked people in their office and demanded to know what was said in confidential meetings. She bitterly complains about employees she thinks aren't "on her side" and will then tell them she's taking away parts of their job because they can't handle it.
