More cons than pros

Pros

Decent salary (for Estonia), very cool office, lots of company/team events throughout the year.

Cons

Management is a nightmare! When joining the company I've heard complaints from different people, one mentioned "managers from hell". After just a few months I understood what they meant. Firstly, no matter how experienced you are, you'll be a second level employee inside Playtech if you are not from Israel. Medium level managers or up, they are only Israeli. Also, they don't respect Estonians, calling they "lazy, slow and limited people". And since they don't trust their own teams, they constantly use the whip to push things to move even when they are already moving, just to show power. Apart from being really bad people-managers, they are not very keen to organization also. Most teams don't have any process to follow, and when they do (created by organized people like Estonians), Israeli managers just bypass the whole process to meet their own interests (using an excuse to be Agile).

Better companies out there

Pros

As Playtech is widely used by most gaming companies it's good to gain the knowledge and experience of their platform and systems. Flexible working policy which is handy.

Cons

No process for anything, no formal reviews or appraisals. Bonus system is flawed as it's basically down to if you're on the right side of management rather than company performance as stated in your contract, you have to get everything in writing to cover yourself. Extremely poor management, communication non existent.

Nepotism at its best

Pros

Many great co-workers, but not including managers.

Cons

This firm is a good example of outrageous nepotism and how it can screw up a well-oiled machine. It used to be a good company - fun to work at, but now it has turned into hell. This company doesn't care about its employees - they are just expendable tools. Company promotes free and open work environment where every voice has value and should be heard. That's load of BS, because when people give open and honest feedback they are either ignored or worst, forced to leave the company. Issues are not being resolved, instead empty promises are made, but in reality management doesn't care and all issues make its way into the corporate black hole. Employees are being forced back into office with no clear explanation. Management knows there isn't enough room at offices to house everyone, but they don't listen nor care. It seems that the company is more worried about counting butt-hours spent at the office rather than valuing work efficiency and productivity. Company's workstations are filled with junk software all made to collect data on the user and spy on them, it's nearly impossible to do any actual work, because the computer resources are wasted on spyware.
