Pros

Contracting company so the pay is good. They have very smart and driven people working here at the middle management/project leadership level.

Cons

They are going through a merger so everything is up in the air, there have been many shifts in leadership so there will be absolutely no training for you and no on-boarding process. All of their procedures seem to be stuck in the 90s, they are using multiple different websites and systems to store information so half of your day will be spent looking for the info you need instead of doing your job (and don’t think of even asking for help because no one knows where the info is either so you’ll be sent on a wild goose chase) The executive leadership team is geriatric and should have retired already. They are holding the entire company back. Everything has to pass by them and just to feel like they’re still involved they’ll give irrelevant input that ends up holding projects back. The entire company feels like a highschool where the senior leadership is a bunch of bullies that the lower grades can’t wait for them to graduate. You are basically on call, and they straight up say it. They pretend to value work life balance while praising those who work weekends and late nights.

The Vancouver branch is a huge disappointment

Pros

Most people are nice in the office

Cons

The Vancouver branch is a huge disappointment! It is an extremely toxic office (most of this comes from poor poor leadership), sad thing is Toronto is aware and no actions have been taken. Characteristics of the management style for this office include dictatorship, narcissism, zero self awareness or business intelligence, and lots of scapegoating. The employee morale is low but again Toronto doesn’t care as the office is smaller. Other cons to this office: - extremely cheap, the hours of work are set by a certain individual who watches the clock, Boxing Day isn’t a holiday in the Vancouver office, and lots of other ridiculous things. Save your sanity and don’t work here.

Pros

- reasonable pay - benefits (although not the best they exist) - summer hours

Cons

- no flexible hours or work from home policy - stuck in the "old days" the mentality of ... It's always been done this way - inability to move to newer technologies to improve processes - micro managing - too many office politics - feels like you're in high school all over again (too many clicks) - inability to change quickly (things can take years to implement if they are ever approved) - crushing people's creativity
