Pros

Variety of places to eat at lunch time. Convenient on public transportation. Thanks to the Mayor for appointing a CEO outside of the current management pool. One that will behave with professional integrity.

Cons

Management engages in inappropriate and unprofessional behavior generating office gossip and low moral.

Pros

The office is conveniently located downtown.

Cons

Philadelphia Works is all about nepotism and favoritism. It is impossible to get fired and hardworking employees are not appreciated and often are forced to pick up the slack from others. The company does not care about their employees and are bleeding quality employees because of it. Wages are low and raises and bonuses are nonexistent. The current CEO Mark Edwards has stripped away every employee perk upon his arrival and has ignored the high turnover rate. The company's performance is getting worse by the day due to the CEO's inexperience in the workforce development field. The company keeps incompetent and hostile managers who have driven out many employees and hr has completely ignored employee's complaints. The human resources department is untrustworthy and unprofessional. The health benefits are expensive for what you get.

Pros

PWI is a good place to start your career, but is not a company for long-term growth. The work/life balance is fair at best.

Cons

Seldom promotions or bonuses even if you work hard. Everything revolves around the state budget and/or blamed on it to avoid compensating deserving employees. Low morale, half of the staff is incompetent, tons of inter-office gossip and management/hr department is very unprofessional and untrustworthy. Extremely high turnover, most people who can leave have and will.
