      Exclusive, narrow minded old boys club

      Pros

      Excellent funding and equipment. Caterpillar was a great employer sadly Perkins was definitely not.

      Cons

      Exclusive environment, unacceptable level of cronyism, extreme old boy club mentality, very poor leadership and management. Unless you're a loud, arrogant, narcissistic socialite you will not get any recognition or even be heard. Working here forced me to seriously consider leaving engineering altogether. Luckily now I am in a great employer in engineering. Best decision I made was to leave Perkins.

      Pros

      It pays a wage....just. Almost minimum.

      Cons

      Too many who kiss bottoms. Reduce the wages because supposed operaters are no better than cabbage packers. Management don't listen. You only get a full time job if you are a yes person.

      Chaos and they know it, but won't change

      Nice friendly people, leave early on Fridays, covered parking, gym in the basement

      Cons

      Chaos, no leadership, no project specs, no accountability in management, no one knows what is going on, management speaks in jibberish using football terminology and no one knows what they're talking about, key positions are suddenly being eliminated and not replaced as if there is a massive financial crisis looming overhead
