Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear you have felt your experience has not been a positive one. When people resign from our employment we will send an exit survey and where possible conduct a fact to face exit interview. That will give us more information about how we can improve. Our recent Great Place to Work Certification produced a very positive result from the anonymous employee survey. We take that feedback and work to improve year on year, and having specific feed back helps us do that. Thanks for taking the time to feedback, if there is further specific details you would like to provide please feel free to email hr@paystream.co.uk and we promise to review that and take any actions that we can, off the back of it.

Pros

Compared to a lot of other lifeless call centres this does pay good on arrival. That is all.

Cons

The managament in the Customer Care department are some of the most unprofessional human’s I’ve ever witnessed. They spend all day doing their own personal life admin, avoiding the main core of their job, it's as if they were trusted with the department decades ago and have been allowed to create a company around their own life and preferences. However when you learn how young some of them are, it's just wild they are at the position they are at. When they do switch into managment mode it's standard micromanaging, passive aggressive levels of communucation, condescending levels of communication and creating a hostile working environment. Members of management talk atrociously of other members of staff but then proceed to be overly friendly to them minutes after saying some of the biggest HR red flag level of comments about them loud for other members of the team to hear, it’s quite uncomfortable to witness these exchanges. You’re not allowed to build a relationship with any of your colleagues, things like being away from your desk or being seen to speak to other departments is gossiped about and fed to other management, The hours are unnecessarily long, the concept of working from home is dangled like a carrot, the milk machine looks like it is pouring out discharge, the fruit box gets snaffled up in 5 seconds besides one hard pear that sits out for 5 days, to the point I’m surprised a manager hasn’t gone over to the pear to ask them why they’re not in “available” to take calls? The toilets both mens and womens - I have no words. Their are no career opportunities for 12 months, even if you wanted to take a step down and go to a department like Payroll, which is less pay, but based on hearsay, isn't no better. A bullying type of atmosphere I’ve not experienced in an office before, beyond monitoring toilet breaks and rewarding favourites that do a fraction of the work other members of staff would do. Relationship with other departments are wild - a bunch of he said she said but from grown adults. The service offered is faulty and floored which results in back to back negative calls of people complaining and I’m sure you can imagine the “can I speak to the manager?” “they want to speak to a manger” “tell them I’m in a meeting girlie!” *proceeds to sit on their mobile phone* scenario that happens regularly. There is no sick pay, it follows SSP, so if you caught covid, like myself and needed 2 days off after a weekend to feel somewhat normal, you were not entitled to be paid for that. You have to make a deal with the devil to go to a Doctors Appointment. Holidays also feel like an award not an entitlement, I witnessed one member of staff get questioned on an internal email because she had a days holiday booked off each week for the whole of one month. A really awful department to work in, in a company that would have you think they no know better.

Thanks for the feedback, I’m genuinely sorry to hear that that your experience has not been a good one. We care deeply about what our colleagues’ experiences are when working at PayStream. We continually look at and review any feedback we get on an ongoing basis from our employees and accept responsibility on our part for making any changes where we can, with honesty. We know that we are not perfect but are never complacent about how important a rewarding and enjoyable work life is for everyone. Culture is important to us, being one of our pillars of success. That is why we ask our employees to take part in the anonymous Great Place to Work survey every year. Our recent survey results (Sept 2024) indicate a very positive result and we continue to remain Certified as a Great Place to Work company and listed UKs Best Places for Women. UK's Best Workplaces for Women™ 2024 | Great Place to Work® UK. We review the results and take action on the back of it. We pay enhanced sick pay, after an employee passes their probation period, and we offer enhanced family benefits including maternity and paternity pay. We have a careers pathway programme which yes, generally covers 12 months with the company, there are clear business reasons for that though, which include promoting stability in teams and taking into account the training and time necessary for any moves. Personal development is important to us and so we do promote from within, regularly. Age is not a barrier and we have tailored management training programmes. We promote equity across the business in terms of salary bandings. Our service levels are rated 5 stars on Trustpilot and the latest reviews indicate a strong commitment to service delivery and satisfaction. Part of this commitment means managing holidays fairly and in a way that allows colleagues to continue to feel supported during busy times and when team members are on holiday. We promote healthy and strong relationships and have generous team budgets to encourage team events and the building of strong friendships, and also company and office events. Learning and improving is something we should always do and any information that can help is appreciated. I am happy for you to reach out to me with any further comments or feedback. Thanks, and wishing you every success in your next career move. hr@paystream.co.uk
