Pros

Co-workers and leadership are great. The people you work with at The Paley Center are awesome across every department, and everyone is hardworking and willing to help one another out. It is very much so a team environment. The work is enjoyable and exciting, and the programming we produce is exceptional and seems always to get better. I feel lucky to be associated with so many talented people in the industry and with an organization with such a well know reputation in the business.

Cons

Sometimes there are early mornings, late nights, or long weekend hours if there is an event, but it doesn't happen often, and you are told far in advance.

Pros

I’ve been with the Paley Center for twenty years and have seen many changes over the past two decades. I know there has been some negative criticism of the company on this site, but that has decidedly not been my experience. I thoroughly respect the goal-oriented, results-driven, let’s-get-down-to-brass-tacks and get-the-job-done style of leadership. Channels of communication are always open, input is welcomed, the feedback smart. And it is precisely this no-nonsense adaptability that has allowed us to survive and flourish in the current virtual, stay at home world. Furthermore, management’s commitment to a positive employee experience has been particularly impressive in recent months. Going into 2020, even before COVID hit, the emphasis was on nurturing team relationships between the two coasts. Then, when we were all working from home, management was uniformly warm and supportive. I received many inquiries asking how I was doing, including phone calls from the very top, a personal touch that was most appreciated and not the norm for most companies. Most importantly, I wouldn’t have lasted this long if I didn’t believe that they still cherished our mission. They talk the talk and walk the walk. Concerns of diversity have dominated the cultural conversations over the past months, but it has always remained a top priority of this organization. Over the last several years alone, we’ve hosted galas honoring African-American, Hispanic, Women and LGBTQ+ achievements in television and have consistently endeavored to add the shows that feature this content into our Archive. Similarly, focus on the value and necessity of education has never been more tantamount, as our PaleyEducation@Home initiatives can attest. When all is said and done, I have been -- and continue to be -- a proud member of the Paley family.
