Downfall of Precious - lost its values

Pros

- There was a time when this agency was good in grooming young PR talent (not anymore) - There was a time when it was a fun agency to work for - There was a time when people were treated with respect and kindness

Cons

- Questionable ethics and character of senior leadership - It's all about chasing revenue, ask employee about burnout - Spends a good amount of money on meaningless awards and PR for themselves cos they're trying to mask the reality that the agency is far from an ideal place to work for now

Hi and thanks for your service - and the review. I believe that we can agree that the pandemic has been harsh on everybody - and we also found it hard to maintain the team spirit as easily as before. We're sorry for not getting it right all the time and apparently not addressing your and your team's issues adequately on time. A company like ours can't exist without focusing on and caring for people. Thanks for the reminder! It's heartwarming though that others praise us for our 'family-like culture'. Maybe it's a matter of timing, team and perspective? With regards to awards - it's similar to what we advise our clients on every now and then you need to get external validation as a sales tool (less than an ego-booster) and networking enabler. But first and foremost awards are great recognition for the work the team has done overall - and for specific clients engagements. So it's about HR, Sales and client relations. I believe they make business sense. Sorry that we might not have shared this more often. There's a saying that there's a season for everything. So while we basically stopped all active business development more than six months ago, we kept growing by client requests and referrals, which I believe is a great testament to the awesome work our teams have been doing over the past 10 years and especially throughout the pandemic. Thank you for your contribution. Have we been stretched and stressed - yes we have. I have been. Are we doing something about it? Absolutely. We're currently confirming 2-3 new hires every single week. Unfortunately, we can't always dictate when new people join with us and in some parts of the year hiring is more difficult than others. Overall, PRecious is a learning organization - that's one of our core values. Sometimes learning is more micro and guided, sometimes it's more about learning-by-doing. We are running over 30 trainings this year on top of mentoring and career plans. Should we have done more of that last year? Certainly. But we're getting there. It's amazing to see people returning to PRecious and also people growing and rising through the ranks. I believe after all we must get some things right sometimes. I want to thank you for your contributions and hope that besides that frustrations, you still have some fond memories and key learnings that you're taking with you. Wishing you all the best of luck and success!

Pros

Good agency to do an internship as you are exposed to many different working styles and a variety of clients Their recent 'restructuring' allowed for better efficiency and less toxicity

Cons

Interns and juniors are overworked Management tend to over-service accounts which are 'at risk' CEO does not put focus on talent retention HR does not make an effort to connect with employees Fast turnover rate

Thank you for your review. We hear you and are aware of some of the shortcomings and pledge to work on them. However, 2020 was a challenging year where everybody with a job had to pull harder to make it through one of the toughest crises since the war. If you’re in the service industry, it’s never about just hitting the scope or delivering on the dot; it’s about matching and over-servicing clients' expectations as a default in the professional services business. In a Covid year, it is a reality that we're expected to walk even further than usual. This is not about us not listening or overservicing for the sake of pleasing clients, but 2020 was a survival year, where “not losing” is already “winning" from a business perspective. We are sorry that we apparently missed the mark and didn’t meet your expectations despite the plenty of curveballs thrown at us and the industry this year. Wishing you and your career well.
