Low Pay & Bad Management

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

1) Can turn up late for work as long as you get work completed, so you can spend more time sleeping and getting well rested for work. 2) Low requirements for the job position (anyone can apply and get accepted) 3) Job interview was easy (you get brain teasers for the job interview that requires primary school level reasoning)

Cons

1) The pay is low compared to similar positions in other companies and organisations 2) Senior management has a toxic culture of micro-managing and being late for meetings. In particular, the present Chief of Staff can be quite unprofessional and narcissistic. 3) Management team does not care much about the mental health of employees.

Pros

The flexible remote work options are a significant benefit, allowing for better work-life balance and adaptability.

Cons

Consider reading the following thoroughly before you apply to PRISM+: Language Barriers: Communication challenges due to language differences often lead to misunderstandings and inefficiencies. Slow Response Times: Delays in decision-making and issue resolution from higher management can be frustrating and hinder productivity. Unclear Product Information: The website lacks clarity on product benefits, which can confuse both employees and customers. Longer Working Hours: Extended operational hours due to insufficient staffing, leading to employee burnout. Low Salary Rates: Compensation is below industry standards, likely due to the company’s reluctance to invest in adequate staffing. Public Shaming of Former Employees: Management publicly criticizes ex-employees, creating a negative and unprofessional atmosphere. This company operates primarily on a freelance basis without formal contracts, which allows them to terminate employees without prior notice. Additionally, they publicly announce the reasons for termination, often without the knowledge or consent of the affected employee. Favoritism Toward Low Performers: High-performing employees feel undervalued as management prioritizes and rewards underperforming staff. Unproductive Meetings: Discussions often devolve into personal attacks (ad-hominem) rather than constructive, open-forum dialogue. Unprofessional Management: Leadership lacks professionalism, leading to poor decision-making and a toxic work environment. Lack of Recognition and Support in the Workplace: The company does not hold performance huddles or acknowledge employees for their efforts in achieving high CSAT (Customer Satisfaction) scores. Instead, team leaders and supervisors focus solely on pointing out employees' mistakes, often pressuring them about their faults without offering constructive feedback or support.

Unprofessional and Toxic Manager

Pros

The workplace environment is decent, with colleagues who were generally supportive and hardworking. Exposure to the international market was also a plus point for people who want to tap into regional markets.

Cons

However, the cons outweigh the pros. Lack of Autonomy and Trust: There’s a culture of micromanagement where working from home, taking sick leave, and using annual leave feel more like privileges than rights, even when they are stated in the contract. Despite consistently delivering results, employees are often met with distrust. Even something as basic as taking a short break, like going to the washroom, is sometimes criticized. Frequent threats related to job security and bonuses also create an unnecessarily stressful work environment. Credit and Blame: Even after successfully completing projects, employees might find their hard work overlooked or claimed by others. When things go wrong, responsibility is quickly shifted away from those in senior positions. This reliance on seniority to avoid accountability is frustrating and damages relationships with upper management. Miscommunication and poor memory of processes often lead to delays, but it is typically the employees who end up being blamed for them. Unprofessional Behaviour: There are ongoing concerns about unprofessional language and behaviour, especially towards female employees, yet little seems to be done to address these issues. Personal boundaries are frequently crossed, with employees feeling pressured to reveal personal information or face consequences in their performance reviews. This creates a very uncomfortable and unsafe work environment. Manipulation and Team Politics: Manipulative tactics are often used to deflect blame or create division within the team such as giving instructions to mark down appraisals but revealing that they ordered it to be marked up instead, presenting themselves in a good light. This kind of politics leads to unnecessary conflict and makes it difficult for the team to function effectively.
