Thank you to our CIO

Pros

great employee share program good benefits access to leading technology for an Edmonton based company We have one of the best CIO's in the country in my opinion. He has taken us into the 21st century with his technology strategy and vision, and is continually pushing us into new areas with a greater focus on the business in the process. My friends in the city are awestruck at what we've done in such a short period of time. I'd like to personally thank Mark (our CIO) for his vision, leadership, advice and ability to drive us forward. I've been exposed to more technology and career opportunity in the last 4 years than my previous 15.

Cons

I wish available vacation time was longer. 3 weeks doesn't cut it. I think some longer term employees that seem to complain and have nothing constructive to say, have lost their way and do not appreciate our CIO is delivering exactly what they ask for year after year. Change, career opportunity, and availability of new technologies. Not sure how that is done without continuous change. Take a look at the world around you and wake up. Happy to sit in your seat and complain vs doing something productive and positive seems to be the DNA of some people that have become lazy. These people, if they are so miserable, should move on, as they are an anchor to the rest of the people on the team... you know who you are... and so do the rest of us.
