Pros

From day one, I have felt very welcomed and supported in my role as a Product Support Specialist. My immediate coworkers are always willing to help and offer guidance, and I feel that my team lead and manager are always ready to listen and support our team 100%. Upper management and leadership take an interest in all employees and genuinely seem to care about them. Working for a B Corporation is amazing. I’ve noticed how much OverDrive invests in its employees, the community, and the world as a whole. The flexible hybrid work schedule has provided excellent work-life balance, which has been such a positive aspect of working at this company. I feel more productive and effective in my role because the work-life balance has improved my mental well-being. I hope to continue working for OverDrive for many years to come.

Pros

I have been employed at OD for over six months now. It is a dream come true. I can confidentially say that I have found my career home. The company is filled with passionate employees who are thriving in their positions. It is lead by amazing leaders who inspire. There is great company culture with in office events to look forward to that are on the clock which even include paid volunteer opportunities. I felt welcome from the moment I started and continue to feel welcomed and more and more comfortable in the work environment due to how friendly people are there. There are professional development and career advancement opportunities. Bonding with coworkers and taking breaks together are encouraged. OD understands that we as employees spend a huge portion of our lives at work, and they do an amazing job at making it a great experience by encouraging friendships, offering health workshops and exercises classes, and groups. On site there is a basketball hoop, indoor and outdoor walking paths, community garden, workout room, locker room with showers, free yoga and cross fit classes, golf par 3, ping pong table, and foos ball table, The hybrid work schedule is amazing - two days working in office and three days from home with flexible hours (working the core hours of 9 AM - 3 PM and working the remaining two hours when it works best for you). My experience with management has been great. My direct supervisor has always been available, helpful, kind and transparent. A typical work day includes various daily and week tasks, and project work. All of my work is done digitally. I usually have three to four meetings per week (a combination of virtual and in-person. Communication is mostly through email, Zoom, Slack, and Salesforce. The hardest part of the job can be sitting for long periods and there are frequent tasks/projects that are tedious and monotonous. Though, breaks are encouraged and I always feel appreciated by those whom I am completing the tasks for. The most enjoyable part of the job is that company is constantly growing and changing. There is always something to learn and a great team to learn along with. A typical work day includes various daily and week tasks, and project work. All of my work is done digitally. Cons

The interview process happens in 4 phases, which can be hard to wait, but the wait is so worth it.
