Pros

Start up with nothing established properly so huge opportunities to learn.

Cons

Working for Outset Medical was hell on earth. You are constantly worried on when you will lose your job. The company is sinking and their stock price went from $60 to 40 cents. They stopped sponsoring peoples PERM throughout the company so if you are on a visa, stay away. If you dont have visa issues I would still stay away unless you want to be overwhelmed with constant worry. The company is very dysfunctional.

Pros

Outset Medical is a mission-driven company dedicated to improving patient care through innovative dialysis technology, which is reflected in its people and work. I have the chance to work with highly skilled cross-functional teams, including clinical experts, engineers, and product leaders, all of whom were deeply committed to making a difference. Outset Medical is a mission-driven company focused on improving patient care through innovative dialysis technology, and that purpose is reflected in the people and the work. I had the opportunity to collaborate with highly skilled cross-functional teams, including clinical experts, engineers, and product leaders, all of whom were deeply committed to making a difference. From a learning and development perspective, there is a strong emphasis on building programs that directly support product adoption and customer success. I am able to design and deliver impactful training solutions—including eLearning, video-based content, and certification programs—that reach a wide range of audiences from internal teams to healthcare providers. The environment encourages ownership and initiative. If you are proactive and solutions-oriented, you can make a meaningful impact and see your work influence both business outcomes and patient care.

Cons

Like many fast-growing companies, priorities can shift quickly, and there can be ambiguity at times. Processes and systems are still evolving, which may require individuals to navigate changing directions and operate with a high degree of flexibility. Cross-functional alignment can occasionally be challenging due to competing priorities, and timelines can be aggressive depending on business needs.
