Pros
I worked at Origin for 2.5 years, and left after moving house and not enjoying the commute into London anymore. I had nothing but great experiences at Origin, and would happily work alongside the team again in future. - Great leadership team in Raja and Rob, that filled me with a lot of confidence. - Good attitude to keeping up with technologies, for example keeping projects up to date with new versions of Python/Django etc. - Had weekly product meeting focused on new and upcoming ideas, giving everybody in the company a chance to voice their opinions and concerns. Felt like I was listened to and was able to have an impact. - A lot of trust put into the dev team when choosing an approach for new ideas and features. Early input is sought around feature complexity when planning out the roadmap, to try and achieve quick wins first before iterating on v2/3/4 etc. - Enjoyed lots of team events like, a long weekend to Menorca, river punting in Oxford, paintballing.
Cons
- Clients are are large financial institutions, so along with the territory comes long sales cycles. If features are being built for new customers it can take a while to get new stuff in their hands.
