      RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

      Wow, where to start, this company is ran with ZERO ethics, The owner and staff directly under him have NO regard or care for any of the company's staff, the stores are so outdated and hard to shop in for customers, the owner watches store cameras from his phone and calls managers constantly about what he's seen, managers are over worked and are always busy with pointless tasks that in no way improve the stores or staff, used merchandise is passed off as new product after being "cleaned" in the company's warehouse.

      This is so very disappointing this has been a very gross lie & it’s been on this site for over a year Something is not working with a system in which a person of dubious decorum and honesty can “drop this “ and then walkoff. With no accountability. There has been enough time elapsed that I would bet she is still unhappy and continues to blame others

      Pros

      As owner and president of the company, my most active pursuit is to insure that Opitz is a great place to work. Without great employees we would not be a successful business. Everyone who works at Opitz plays an important and significant part to our success. Nothing brings me more happiness than seeing coworkers recognize that they are they are truly the most important part of what makes our all efforts successful. Every month we have a special lunch in which we recognize the anniversaries of employees who have been with the Company, for which is most of the time, multiple years. Our business a recovery and retail business that works with upscale apparel brands and accessories. We employ over 130 people and we are still growing...after 30 years in business!! We have both retail and warehouse positions.

      it takes a lot of physical and mental energy. Most of the work is fast paced.

      Pros

      Get to see designer products you might not elsewhere. Can learn some things about small business operations if you pay attention.

      Cons

      Highest turnover I have ever seen at any company period. Longtime managers spontaneously quit or legitimately walk out. From what I witnessed it looked like many were over worked, micro managed and fed up with upper management/the owners right hand. People in higher positions would randomly get fired which seemed to be for internal political reasons. Nothing seemed to ever get resolved in any means for decision making. Leading to what I saw was a lot of last minute changes and frustrations for managers and leads. The place is an emotional cesspool ran on fear and greed. Overall mentally and emotionally draining. Almost every long term employee I encountered there complained about how much they wanted to leave. Most stayed though because of the pay and would put on a fake smile for the owner when he was around. It was a sad place, full of sad people.

I believe everyone has the opportunity to voice their feelings. thankfully, I hear many positive comments everyday....many shared with me by other people who have heard them from our employees. I am working hard to ensure that all of our employees have a very positive experience. this former employee is convinced I have work to do....and I agree. It is a very humbling experience to hear these remarks. I am committed to continue our quests.
