Pros

A friendly and eager team, good location and inviting space.

Cons

As you read these reviews ask yourself why they might be so polarizing? (overcompensating for all the negative reviews). Ultimately their core values are at odds with management's asset or liability approach to HR. If you can survive the aggressive and unrelenting project management style, maybe your colleagues will help you out. Just don’t expect your supervisor to provide guidance. Recent grads are frequently told that a career at Opfocus is a "real world MBA”. If that is your aspiration then there are many more imaginative companies that will ultimately have a more positive affect on your resume. Although their office is bright and inviting, it is surreally quiet. Management will likely respond with a list of stats and brag about audacious events and trips. It looks fun in the photos but highly restrictive.

Pros

Nice office building in Burlington.

Cons

No opportunity for advancement. Very small and not growing. CEO is more concerned with micro managing employees rather than growing the company. PTO time is only 10 days - vacation and sick combined. Office culture is like a morgue. You can hear a pin drop and it's very dull and employees are always on edge and worried they will get in trouble for talking. Leadership acts superior to staff.

OpFocus Response

We appreciate everyone's feedback, though thought to offer some facts about OpFocus that differ from what the reviewer wrote: - OpFocus was #1994 on INC5000 list of fastest growing small businesses in 2013. At the time this “review" was written our Q1 2014 sales were 2.5X LARGER than Q1 2013 sales. In 2014 sales grew over 100%. - ALL team members EVER employed by OpFocus have been given a minimum of 15 days of PTO and the option for a week of unpaid PTO. We also offer a sabbatical program every 5 years of service. - In 2014, more than 1/3 of the team earned promotions to new roles with more responsibility. We provide regular training, and take time to train each other each year with a 2-3 day offsite retreat. 2013 was Bermuda. 2014 was the White Mountains. 2015 will be Iceland! In January 2015 we had two days of professional training, and began offering OpFocus Way training along with our standard systems training for new hires. - We just moved into a beautiful brand new building in January 2015, with an open work environment and lots of varied work spaces. We're also opening an office in Toronto in 2015. Woohoo!

Pros

High level of talent and experience throughout the organization. The values driven culture creates a healthy and balanced work environment. There is a strong energy to succeed at every level of the organization. Great place to grow your skill set and experience.

Cons

The only cons might be due to the small size of the organization. Some natural pain points related to working for such a small org. That being said, the cons do not outweigh the upside pros of working for them.
