Pros
Guaranteed job; important work; fulfilling work; some room for advancement if you start at the bottom; ideal contract position for retirees; great first job; able to learn many aspects of business to become a multi faceted professional; a lot of exposure to global economy and international business
Cons
No 401K match; very expensive health care; no sick days; no paid maternity leave; no starting salary per position or level - everything is open ended and negotiated per person; no room for advancement after a certain amount of time; no work perks or benefits of any kinda like holiday parties or company outings; employer tries to benefit from independent contractor laws while employing full time employees; no perks the longer you work there (like more vacation after 5 years etc) no standard bonuses, extremely heavy workload with high turnover rate and no re-hiring. No employee protection from verbal harassment from clients. Constant pressure to work over time but regularly not offered to pay OT wages.
