Pros

Name recognition and training at OSHA training institute is good.

Cons

Managers are given the position because they they knew someone in the Region. Managers are unethical, inexperienced, favor whom they can treat like a slave, and do not understand construction and general industry means and methods. The work and doing inspections are easy but since managers lack education and have never been managers before it makes the office HELL. Pay is bad, the most u gonna make is 98k but it will take you 20 years. Many compliance officers and managers do not even have college education or real life work experience. You learn all on your own and if you are educated and have prior experience they rely on you for everything.

Pros

Job stability, great field workers.

Cons

No matter what happens management gets the credit, and workers get the blame. Management either has no field experience at all, or hasn't been out in decades - and these are the ones reviewing the case files. Management has a bad case of picking one or two office "pets" that are treated well; the rest are not.
